hauora.com has grown out of the need for Maori health professionals, workers, and managers to take a coordinated, managed, and active approach to their own development. It is a national initiative involving a number of Maori led health professional organisations and networks.

Some of the scholarship and grants below may not be available at the time you are viewing it because you may have missed the dates. Don’t give in though – most will have an opening date the following year – so keep watching and we recommend you go directly to the providers website for the most up to date information. Hauora Maori Scholarships

These are administered by the Ministry of Health. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to students who are studying an NZQA accredited course in health and disability studies, in order to build Māori workforce capacity in the sector. Henry Rongomau Bennett Memorial Scholarships & Grants

The scholarships are offered to Māori undergraduate and postgraduate students and those working, or want to work in leadership roles in Māori health and community. Contact their administrator or Te Rau Matatini’s website for more information.

Bob Henare and Harry Pitman Excellence Awards
